The Big Question

Can Nigeria truly achieve sustainable development without Landscape Architecture? Every new road, housing estate, industrial park, university campus, and tourism destination sits within a landscape. Yet the profession responsible for planning these environments is still largely absent from many development decisions. Landscape Architecture is far more than beautification. It is about creating healthier cities, protecting ecosystems, improving public infrastructure, supporting tourism, enhancing property values, and building climate resilience. If Nigeria is serious about building resilient, livable and competitive cities, Landscape Architecture must become part of mainstream national development planning - not an afterthought.
